Assmann congratulates Managing Director Phil Penninger on the company's 25th anniversary

Assmann Electronic GmbH in Lüdenscheid has a reason to celebrate: its Managing Director for Operations can look back on a proud 25 years with the company. In the fall of 1998, Phil Penninger began his career at the international solution provider for high-quality server, network and peripheral infrastructure as a sales trainee. His journey through various positions in the company led him to the company's management, where he has been a member since 2018.

From intern to Managing Director - the success story of Managing Director Phil Penninger is remarkable. His journey began in 1998, when he decided to do an internship in sales at the Lüdenscheid-based company. Inspired by the insights and experience he gained, he took advantage of the company's offer to train as an industrial clerk, while also studying business administration. The fruits of his hard work were already apparent in 2003: after successfully completing his dual studies, Penninger was taken on as assistant to the management.

Phil Penninger was able to demonstrate his leadership qualities from 2006, when he took over the management of the organization, processes and projects in the company. He was responsible for cross-company projects and, among other things, managed business processes from purchasing to sales and IT. Building on this, Penninger also took on responsibility for Procurement & Logistics in 2011, where he impressed with the successful implementation of business processes in retail and his leadership skills.

After almost 20 years at Assmann Electronic, Phil Penninger was appointed to the management board as Managing Director Operations in 2018. The expansion of the customer base and the strong growth within the group of companies necessitated the expansion of the top management team, which was able to successfully meet the new operational challenges. In order to exploit synergies with the subsidiaries and further drive forward the expansion strategy within the Group, his management responsibilities were extended to the entire Assmann Holding in 2021.

When Phil Penninger started at Assmann Electronic in 1998, there were only around 50 employees working at the Lüdenscheid site. Today, there are around 160. During his time with the company, Penninger has witnessed the opening of numerous foreign branches. Under his management, the company's warehouse capacities were also expanded and modernized. The expansion of logistics included the construction of a high-bay warehouse in 2008, the commissioning of an external warehouse in Lüdenscheid in 2022 and the addition of an external warehouse with optimal highway access. In 2008, Penninger also expanded his company experience internationally - with a six-month stint at the holding company's Asian branches. In addition, he managed the standardization of the international web stores and ERP systems and thus managed to efficiently take into account the advancing digitalization and make optimal use of synergies within the Assmann Group.

However, Penninger has not lost sight of his roots in the company to this day. In order to promote and support new talent, he is registered as a trainer and launched the "ASSMANN goes green" initiative. The focus here is on various projects carried out by trainees on the topic of corporate environmental responsibility - with the aim of critically questioning aspects such as electricity consumption, packaging waste and means of transportation on business trips.
